This design for Tom and Jinger’s Mountain House, began with a conversation about landscape, fresh air, and a new chapter. The peaks and valleys of the mountains themselves, were an inspiration for the form of the home. Inside, the peaks create generous spaces of coming together and enjoying the landscape, while the valleys act as connections of transitioning from public to private spaces. The large expansive glass windows frame the views in place, and anchor the home to its context. The richness of the interior finishes of the field stone and warm stained oak, against the backdrop of the magical mountain-scape, create an intimate and picturesque home.
