SPENCER ANDERSON ALEXANDER

Registered architect in NY,NJ,RI,VT,FL

Spencer Alexander holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester in Economics, Biology, and Art History; a Master’s Degree from Illinois Institute of Technology in Architecture. Other honors include: Certificates in Construction Management from NYU SCPS, Deconstruction and Reuse from Yestermorrow Design School, Management Certificate in Public Health from the University of Rochester Simon School of Business and LEED professional certificate.

Spencer started his career in finance at State Street Bank in Boston and transitioned to Construction Management with Northbrook Partners/ Blackrock Investments. After working on several major capital improvement buildings, Spencer decided to pursue a Master’s Degree in Architecture and, upon graduating, worked on 520 West 28th Street project designed by Zaha Hadid/ILA. After becoming a Project Manager, Spencer continued to work on high-end residential, hospitality, and modular projects with firms in NYC, until the formation of Anderson Alexander Architects in 2019.

Architecture

Our design approach is a culmination of therapy and research, understanding the clients needs and desires, designing spaces that pull together its function and formality. Our architecture is fully focused on how the client will experience and enjoy their space.

Interiors

We believe the design should be holistic, from the exterior facade to the rug textile. We believe it is important to continue the guiding principles of the architectural design into the interiors, creating a symbiotic relationship.

Construction

We started the construction side of our company to ensure the intentions and designs made during the architectural and interior phases are followed through. Getting our hands dirty also allows us to see new angles of construction techniques, and continue our holistic design/build approach.

Our passion for development begins with the hunt of truly unique properties that we feel excited for their potential as individual projects, and assists to their communities.
